Niche marketing is the opposite of mass marketing. It means to focus on a very narrow and specific topic or theme. For example, the general subject ‘Dog Grooming’ has a large, general focus. ‘Poodle Grooming’ narrows it down but ‘Toy Poodle Grooming Tips’ is a niche market.
Think of a keyword as being two things:
1) the word, term or phrase that people type into a search engine when they are looking for information
2) the topical focus of an individual web page
You can find niche markets everywhere on the internet. The secret to great niche marketing is to find something you are passionate about – this will sustain you through the early stages, and keep things interesting as your internet business grows.
